about me

Northwestern University

Sept 2017 - June 2021

Bachelor's + Master's of Science in Computer Science

I'm a Senior studying Computer Science at the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering, and I'm pursuing a 4-year BS/MS degree! In my free time, I work as a teaching assistant in the computer science department and volunteer at an after-school program teaching cooking to kids, despite having limited culinary abilities myself. Next fall, I will be joining Amazon in Seattle as a full-time software development engineer!

projects & work

Upcoming: IEEE Project Manager

This coming fall and winter of the 2019-2020 school year, I'm going to be a project manager for IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). I'll have the opportunity to mentor a group of beginning developers through the design and implementation of a software application!

Stay tuned to see what we create!

Software Engineering Intern at Sevenrooms

I interned at Sevenrooms's NYC office during the summer after my sophomore year. At Sevenrooms, I had the chance to manage the start-to-finish implementation of several product features for client use, including a web email portal.

Python, React/JSX, Redux, Google Datastore, HTML/CSS/JS ES6, Django, Google Cloud Platform.

Software Engineering Intern at PayIt

I spent the summer after freshman year at PayIt, whose mission is to simplify government-citizen interactions through technology. In ten weeks, our team of five created a web + mobile app for the North Carolina DMV.

Java, React, React Native, Clojure, MongoDB, AWS.

veNU app

Meet veNU, NU's hottest new app for discovering what's happening on campus. Users can also spread and promote their own events, as well as "star" events they're interested in. Google Maps integration makes it even easier to see what's going on around you!

Created using React Native, Node.js, and Express.

Language & Immigration

Language and immigration are inextricably intertwined - but how exactly do they affect each other? To find out, I programmed a multi-agent model in NetLogo that can play out millions of immigration scenarios - exploring generational language loss, emergence of bilingalism, and more.

Created for Professor Uri Wilensky, who developed the NetLogo language.

Stay Connected

A ten-week design project centered around to helping people keep in touch with other people. Conducting user interviews and user testing, as well as studying UI/UX principles.

HTML/CSS/Vanilla JS.

BMEmatch

For this project, I prototyped an app for the Northwestern University BME Graduate Department. The purpose was to facilitate better student-lab interactions during Ph.D. recruitment.

From additional research, my team and I compilied an 110+ page report and proposed revamped overall recruitment process changes to Director of Ph.D. Admissions.

Shirley Ryan Ability Lab

The Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago was our client for this engineering project. The goal was to design and create a physical therapy aid to help users with cerebral palsy climb stairs more easily.

The project involved several iterations of sketches, mockups, and user testing before arriving at the final product, which we presented to our client and users.
